Natural Weight Loss

According to a 2004 survey by analysts Mintel, 13 million Britons are permanently on a diet. Despite many famous diets and exercise regimes, and all the health warnings associated with being overweight, we still haven’t found a permanent solution to stay slim. However, the experts at Buty Salon have researched slimming and weight control to reveal the core issues behind why we gain weight so we can identify and address them, and produce a permanent solution to staying slim.

Our lifestyle, beliefs, and diet and exercise habits, are a consequence of our childhood, and a reflection of how we were brought up and the environment we live in. Events in our life create emotions that store in our cellular system and It’s our cellular memory and those stored emotions that determine our lifestyle habits in later life. Lack of emotional comforts in our childhood and / or as an adult, may result, in a deficit of inner comforts which can lead to a desire to seek other external comforts to subconsciously numb these emotions. For example, alcohol abuse, drugs, smoking, gambling, or comfort eating.

Comfort eating develops into a bio-chemical chain reaction which encourages cravings to binge eat on high calorie foods. Food then takes over and begins to dominate your life, which is why you gain weight.

When you’re overweight, you’re often too tired to exercise and this can make the situation worse. If you don’t exercise your metabolic rate reduces which means you’re susceptible to gaining more weight. At this stage, bad toxins form and the body accumulates water to dilute them, and this causes water retention and bloating.

Every time we diet, we move away from our comfort zone. This disturbs our body’s chain reaction for food cravings and challenges the cellular emotions that make us who we are. This makes it nearly impossible for any one who is overweight to lose weight - you may go on a diet or start an exercise regime, but it’s likely your inner demons will resurface making it hard to keep your new healthy regime up.

Our experts believe that to lose weight for good you must focus on the following order if priorities:

Courage to break the Food Chain Reaction:

The first step is to identify the type of high calorie foods that you eat regularly, so you can learn to avoid them. This will evoke many long held emotions and you will experience withdrawal symptoms. This is the stage many give up the slimming programme and / or think of another diet or exercise programme. To get through this stage, what you need is just to have courage and determination to fully face your emotions without suppressing or numbing with another external comfort source or without having to postpone breaking the food chain reaction. If you can be in touch with your own built in inner comfort source, it makes it that much easier to get through this barrier. Once this chain reaction is broken, you’ll avoid high calorie foods and start to enjoy a healthier diet.

To achieve a permanent solution to weight loss, you must make this your first mission. (If you don’t get rid of your negative emotions you are unlikely to be a dieting success).

So even if have been able to successfully get through the Food Chain Reaction and be able to go on a well balanced diet its important to maintain a self development programme which focuses on emotional detox and finding comfort within yourself.

Try Yoga – Meditation – Stretching exercises – Body massages – Listen to relaxing music – Visualise yourself with a Slimmer body – Constantly eat small portions of healthy foods – Smell Aromas and fragrances

These help you open up your five senses through touch, smell, vision, hearing and taste to get connected with the inner “you” and help you get closer to nature, which helps you release your negative emotions.

Emotional detox:

This is to address the core issues at an emotional level. You must have further courage to let go of the deeply held layers of negative emotions that makes the body seek comforts. The following can help towards self development:

Physical detox:

If you are overweight this is usually, as a result of a high calorie diet. This produces excess toxins. As toxins are harmful to the body, its natural reaction is to dilute the toxins by water retention in the cellular system. This makes you look bloated. So it’s not fat that makes you look big, it’s the water retention that makes you fat. By removing this excess water, you’ll immediately go down a dress size or two, but the only way to get rid of this water is by drinking more water!

How this works is, if you don’t drink at least two litres of water every day, the body thinks there is a drought. So the body’s reaction is to store plenty of water in the cellular system to be used in a drought. If you drink plenty of water regularly the body thinks opposite to that and start releasing excess water, as there is no need to store water.
Drinking the recommended two litres of water a day also flushes your toxins in your system to further release the excess water. For maximum results do this in conjunction with a detox programme where you avoid all processed foods and eat only raw fruit and vegetables.

Low Calorie Diet:

A detox or ‘raw food' diet is a short-term diet based on unprocessed and uncooked foods, like fresh fruit and vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains and beans.

Heating food above 116 degrees F is believed to destroy the enzymes in the food that assist digestion. Cooking it is also believed to diminish the nutritional value of food which is why a detox diet is seen as a healthy one. Detoxing is believed to have many health benefits, like increased energy, better digestion, weight loss, glossy hair and glowing skin.  The diet doesn't contain trans fats or saturated fats, and is also low in sodium so it can help reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.  Also, a study published in the 'Journal of Nutrition' found that a detox diet also helps lower cholesterol.

WHAT YOU CAN EAT
Unprocessed, organic, whole foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, grains, freshly juiced fruit and vegetables and purified water, all consumed raw.

SIDE EFFECTS
Some people experience a detoxification reaction when they start a detox, especially if their previous diet was rich in meat, sugar, and caffeine. Mild headaches, nausea, and cravings are common but they usually only last for a few days.

The raw food /detox diet can cause certain nutritional deficiencies which is why it is not recommended that anyone follows the diet for more than 7 days at a time. These include lack of calcium, iron, B12 (The 'Journal of Nutrition' study found many long-term followers of detox diets suffered from a vitamin B-12 deficiency), protein and calories. Detoxing for just 3 days per month is believed to be beneficial for the body.

Regular Exercise:

Haven't got time to go to the gym? Then follow these simple exercises and you can get in shape, without even leaving the house….

You don't have to spend hours a day slogging it out in the gym to see results from exercise. Try this toning workout three times a week and you'll feel firmer in just three weeks. If you want to lose weight and tone up, combine it with three 30 minute cardio sessions (like a brisk power walk, skipping or swimming) a week and you'll soon see incredible results. Swimming is great whatever your age or fitness level because it's low impact and won't harm your joints.  Set yourself a target, like completing 5 lengths in 10 minutes, and gradually increase your speed, and reduce your target time by one minute so you swim faster. The quicker you swim the more calories you burn, and in a thirty minute swim you'll burn an average of 250 calories. If you prefer an exercise that you can do in your back garden try skipping, as thirty minutes of slow skipping burns around 300 calories.

THE HOME WORKOUT

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

LATERAL RAISES

FOR SEXY SHOULDERS

Grab your dumbbells and stand up straight, with your feet together, shoulders back and tummy in.
With elbows slightly bent, raise your arms to the side until elbows are shoulder height. Hold for 5 seconds, lower and then repeat. Do 15 to 20 reps.

TIP If you don't have dumbbells use something from your store cupboard instead. Try it with pints of milk, tins, or even pieces of fruit!

BICEP CURL

FOR FIRM ARMS

Hold the dumbbells and stand upright, with your elbows to your sides and your forearms extended in front of you. Flex your biceps and bend your elbows, curling the dumbbells in towards your chest. Do 15 to 20 reps.

TIP If your muscles aren't aching after 20 reps, you're not working them hard enough, so do more reps or use heavier weights.

TRICEP DIP

TO BANISH BINGO WINGS
Pull up a chair, and lean back on it, curling your fingers around the edge for support. Keep your back straight, and slowly lower your body down by bending your arms. Lower yourself as far as you can and hold for a few seconds, before returning to the starting position. Make sure your elbows point backwards and not out to the side. Do 15 to 20.

TIP The further you lower yourself the more effective the exercise as you're putting more weight on to your arms.

PRESS UP

FOR A TONED CHEST

Lie flat on the floor, place your hands underneath your shoulders and rest your knees and feet on the floor. Use your arms to pull your chest up to form a box shape with your arms, body, thighs and floor. Hold for a few seconds and then bend your elbows to lower your chest, so you're just a few inches from the floor. Keep your spine straight throughout and avoid pushing your bottom up into the air. Do 15 to 20.

TIP Straighten your legs to make the exercise more intense as this applies more weight on to your chest.

SQUATS

FOR FIRM THIGHS
Lean against a wall and rest the exercise ball in the small of your back. Keep feet a foot away from the wall and around 6 inches apart. Slide down keeping your back straight until you reach an almost seated position, and hold for 5 to 10 seconds. Keep arms straight at your sides and hold weights to add more weight.  Do 15 to 20.

TIP Clench your buttocks throughout to help tone your bottom too.

AB CRUNCH

FOR A FLAT TUM

Lie on the floor, place your hands behind your head, bend your knees, and rest your calves on an exercise ball. Hold in your stomach and gently raise your shoulders one or two inches off the floor, ensuring that your lower back stays flat against the floor. To make it slightly easier, stretch your arms out in front of you instead of behind you head. Repeat 10 to 15 times.

TIP For a more intense workout, raise your legs in the air at the same time as you raise your head as this works the stomach muscles even harder.

TIPS

Follow with treatments to release physical toxins from the body.

Buty Salon offers following treatments to break down fats, toxins and release them safely.
