Every time you have something cooked, have something raw with it. Even if
you make soup, you must add raw herbs or veg at the end. Raw foods are the
only source of food enzymes, a catalyst for weight balance.’
Gillian McKeith, nutritional research scientist and presenter of ‘You
Are What You Eat’.
‘Eat regularly. Leaving more than three hours between meals means stomach
acid builds up. This can lead to indigestion. But eating small meals every
few hours will make sure you don't get bloated.’
Monica Grenfell, nutritionist and author of ‘The New 5 Days
to a Flatter Stomach’.

Naked’.
‘Canned rice pudding is great for lifting calcium levels, pilchards
offer Omega-3 fatty acids and canned vegetables are full of vitamins. Adding
canned beans, peas and lentils into a dish will make it go further and increase
the protein and iron values of the meal and fill you up more quickly so you’ll
eat less’.
Matt Roberts, celebrity personal trainer
‘You don't need to use fattening oil when you're cooking. As long as
you use a non-stick pan, you can put the meat and veg straight in and 'dry
fry' them to save yourself hundreds of calories.’
Rosemary Conley, diet and fitness guru and TV Presenter.
‘Remember to count the ‘empty’ calories in alcoholic drinks
as booze is often the reason why we’re not losing weight. Single shots
of spirits like gin, vodka and whiskey give you around 50 calories each, while
wine has around 80 - 95 calories per 125ml glass but be aware that most pubs
and bars now serve wine in 175 ml glasses so that will nearly double the calories.
Half a pint of beer or lager both supply about 100 calories.
Amanda Ursell, nutritionist
‘Learn to drink tea and coffee without sugar. Two teaspoons of sugar
in six cups of tea or coffee a day adds up to 800 calories. Cut them out for
a week, and you could drop two and a half pounds. Cut out fizzy drinks, and
you'll lose even more.’
Stephanie Driver, naturopath
'If you don't get enough sleep or have a broken night's sleep, your body
sends a message to the brain to release the stress hormone cortisol, which
encourages the body to store fat. But sleep well, and the body releases a
hormone that helps it metabolise fat better.'

Some of Hollywood's hottest celebrities are linked to the 5-Factor Diet. And there's a reason for this — the diet was originally intended for them. The principles are based on his scientific research and educational background; and the lifestyle components will benefit you as much as they do celebrities. The five-week routine is designed for maximum results without losing those sexy curves that stars like Jessica Simpson are known for. "We're making Jessica taut and toned without taking away her femininity," Harley Pasternak says.
The Five Criteria for the 5 Factor Diet
At each meal:
"With Harley's plan, the focus is not on starving yourself but on healthful living so you don't feel like you're missing out on the foods you love. Once you get started, you get addicted to looking, feeling, and living your best." Alicia Keys
"Harley has changed my life. Not only do I feel better than ever, but
I now can have guilt-free pizza anytime and that has made me a happy girl."

Kate’s advice for diet & lifestyle

We are all imbalanced by different factors and need different nutrition. Nutrition
comes in the form of food, friends and creative work. If one is practicing
Yoga, it may at least be easier to notice what is of disservice to oneself.
Balance is an ongoing work in progress. Says Kat
